SIPRI Footnote: Zimbabwe abandoned the Zimbabwean dollar in April 2009 and now mainly uses the US dollar. All figures for Zimbabwe have been converted into US$ at the market exchange rate for the year in question. Due to lack of meaningful price data in 2008 due to hyperinflation, it is not possible to provide a constant price series for Zimbabwe before 2009. The figure in 1999 includes a supplementary allocation of New Z$ 1.8 million (US$51.9 million).
