SIPRI Footnote: Chad's military expenditure increased sharply after 2005 due to conflict in the east of the country, with exceptional military expenditure financed by oil revenues. Figures for 2006 are not available, but available information suggests a large increase over 2005, and a smaller increase from 2006 to 2007. The data for 2010 and 2011 is estimated by SIPRI.
